About creative healthyness

¡Hello (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)!

Today I'd like to talk about the necessity as creatives to keep a good relationship with oneself, since it will most likely be the longest friendship we will have in our lives and we can nourish it in the same way as relationships with others, through dialogue.

For me, drawing is a way of having a dialogue with myself, so I have always treated it as a friend with whom I can also talk and learn about the world around me.

For this reason I also believe that illustration goes beyond the beauty or awesomeness of a drawing on paper and that this (and any other creative activity) is strongly linked with the thoughts and emotions of the person who does it, that means that it also requires that we pay attention to what we need or want to say and sometimes it is not as easy as it seems.

On the internet is more common to find tutorials about technical aspects of any creative endeavor than people sharing tips or trying to open a space to talk about the emotional difficulties of the creative mind. And that's why I wanna share with you today a channel I found.

Some time ago I found some Youtube videos of a professor and artist named Adam, for me his videos (almost 1 hour podcasts) were refreshing to listen to because they helped me understand part of my way of thinking and not feel alone in the difficulties I was going through. That's why I highly recommend his content, because maybe some of the things he mentions resonate with what you've felt in the past.

For me Adam's channel (Adam Duff LUCIDPIXUL) is an expression of friendship from a total stranger on the internet and he covers pretty deep subjects like fear and how this affects our creativity, social media and it's impact on our work. I really like the way he frames the subjects because he shows it in a way so that you are able to see the difficulties more clearly so you can find the opportunity to grow in them. I can see that his content is coming from a place of honesty a humbleness and that's also why I wanted to share it with you.

But for now this is all from me, I look forward to bringing you other forms of friendly expressions from fellow illustrators and professionals through here in the future.

See you later!
